What Is A Veterinary Hospital?

A veterinary hospital is basically a fancy name for a vet clinic. They generally have more doctors than a small clinic. They may have more advanced equipment and facilities, like a CT machine or up-to-date sterile surgical suite. Some have specialists. These are veterinarians that have completed four or more years of additional training and passed an exam to become board certified in their specialty.

Most, though, are just larger versions of old single-vet clinics. They are places to take puppies or kittens for vaccination. They either provide surgery, like neuters, or can recommend someone who does. They also have prescription medicine for pets, which they prescribe and fill on-site.
